The start of our 43rd season saw Lyndhurst bat first at Boltens Bench. After 8 overs Lyndhurst had reached 51 before loosing thier first wicket with H.Rendell taking pilgrims first wicket of the season.Lyndhurst moved steadily on to 98 before loosing thier second wicket. Sam Birt came into the attack and soon has 3 of the batsmen Lyndhurst back in the pavilion cheaply. With only 9 men Lyndhurst finished on 178-8 with G.Hibell top scoring with 58. After a lovely tea it was Pilgrims turn to bat and Nick and Lawrence opened the batting. Runs came quicky and were equally shared before Lawrence (31)was the first Lyndhurst victim with the score on 72 of just 9 overs. Skipper Trevor was next to bat and put on 50 runs with Nick before being the next out having scored 10 and Pilgrims score on 124.Sam (16) was next in and after scoring 4 quick boudaries was bowled with the score on 155-3. Next in was Jacko who dogidly was still there at the end on 3 not out and Nick who was Not Out 70. A big thanks to chrissy for scoring and all the support we had from family and friends. |
